FALL EQUINOX GATHERING MEDICINE BAGS

Fall equinox , you say? Yes, it will be here before you know it. The date is Wednesday September 23rd 2015.  Many people have ceremonial gatherings around this time celebrating the fall harvest and the changing seasons. It is celebrated at my home for the loving bounty that mother earth provides us. We give thanks for this time of year  because the long hot days of summer are changing to cooler days and the nights are so much cooler in the desert. But also many friends will be celebrating by having sweat lodges and other special ceremonies to celebrate. 

John and I at Thunder Rose Leather have been making medicine bags for many years now. We make our medicine / amulet pouches in all kinds of sizes and styles.  Beaded , plain , large , medium small fringed non fringed . Each one is done with love and attention to detail. Now is the time to order your special medicine gift pouches for fall celebrations. In our Etsy store we now have lots of 30 medicine bags in two different sizes.

These medicine / amulet pouches measure approximately 2.75 inches tall x 1.75 wide and have a 36 inch neck strap making them  perfect leather necklace bags. 

We also have a little bigger medicine pouch in a batch of 30 for the same price. They measure approximately 3 inches tall x 2 inches wide.

The price is $144.00 making them $4.80 each. They are made of quality elkskin leather and are made in  different colors like you see in the pictures.

Medicine / Amulet Bags

Good Morning and Happy Sunday! Today I would like to share one of our cedar bags and a lot of  10 beaded medicine pouches . All of the medicine pouches in this post are handmade and handstitched by us here at Thunder Rose Leather aka Thunder Rose.  For those of you having summer gatherings or going to a summer gathering these pouches all make great give aways for your friends and family. The beaded amulet bags are all beaded with glass seed beads in different colors.

The cedar bag has double cut fringe off the bottom of the bag and is a good place to keep whatever is your favorite medicine is. 

Beaded Amulet  / Medicine bags

Each bag measures 4 inches tall x 3 inches wide and has a double drawstring closure. These beaded leather pouches are all done in saddle tan elkskin leather but we can make them in any color leather you would like. These leather pouches would make really great wedding gifts for your wedding party.

Fringed Leather Drawstring Bag

This fringed leather pouch is perfect for your medicines. It has long double cut fringe off the bottom of the bag and a braided double drawstring closure. This fringed leather bag is decorated with glass crow beads and tin cones. The leather is saddle tan elkskin leather and the bag measures 9 inches tall x 6 inches wide not including the fringe. So there is plenty of usable space for your needs.

New from Thunder Rose Leather

Spring is definately here now. Even my grape vines are getting there leaves. The only trees left to come out are the mesquite trees. They come out in April. I love mesquite trees. I have a really big one in my garden. They are a desert tree so they don't have to be watered.

A few things are coming up in the garden and the march winds have been blowing strong.

We've been busy in the shop. Thought I'd share a new thing or two with you today. I got some new beads in this week and as soon as I have a moment I am giong to post them in our leather and bead store on Etsy.

Most of our work is hand stitched but a few things are done on a sewing machine.
